The stray dogs' presence all over Japan is a particularly well-missed mystery, passed over by humans and hunters and all things alike and not. Several groups of these wild dogs exist, naturally separate from each other; lead by different figures and bound together for different reasons. As a whole, they are skilled, work together in large groups that are capable of dividing themselves and finding each other again, hunting dog type appropriate, and clever. The most prominent of these stray groups are the outsider-dubbed OLDBOYS. Hunting dogs abandoned by owners, run-aways, born-wilds, and pets liberated from their former lives alike, the OLDBOYS have made their name with the subsequent conquering of the Ohu and Alps areas; having moved unanimously to neutralise a no-longer-a-problem bear threat. For years after this, the OLDBOYS held themselves together as the one and only group present on either side of any mountain. They had created a paradise for themselves and those who came along, and largely any ruling or leader system was fair and not to be questioned. It wasn't until half a decade after the glory of the win over the bears wore off that unloyal subsections of the group began to slip away - and other groups began to slip in. The OLDBOYS still exist, but are almost a mythical prospect; difficult to find, always moving, never any sure-fire directions to their current location (or any location at all, really). The hunger for territory and the gradual disregard for the OLDBOYS' defeat over the bears all those years ago has lead to high tensions and higher stakes. Young, amoral minds have stumbled forward; their own philosophies burning high on the edge of their burning-ambition foreheads. A constant struggle to keep up alliances and recruit more dogs has increased in all packs, and it's growing progressively harder to distinguish which loyalties lie where.
The lingering presence of a yet-to-be-identified threat hasn't helped any cases, either.
**This roleplay is loosely based off of Yoshiro Takahashi's Ginga Nagareboshi Gin / Ginga Densetsu Weed. You do not need to be familiar with either to participate in the roleplay. This follows the same general timeline as what is established in both series, though has been kept purposely vague for the sake of allowing submission of applications for canon characters in either series to be brought back in a similar but different environment, after a different course of events. Names of factions have been changed and other creative liberties have been taken on unspecified parts of the series that could be utilised for the roleplay.
